List of Lamp Repair Resources

Curved Glass Panels

There can be considerable cost and risk shipping entire shades, and so I have assembled this list of folks who offer curved glass replacement and, in most cases, metal repair on shades.

Perhaps one of them is local to you and can provide the services you need.

I have arranged them in two tiers. The first few companies, the first tier, have detailed websites, and the second tier mention on their sites that they also do specialized lamp repair in addition to other glass work. In each case, I list them alphabetically by states to help you identify if they are near you.

At the end is also a recommendation if you’re looking to replace curved glass for cabinets or picture frames.

Curran Glass

Elmwood Park, IL 60707
Tel: 708-795-8620

Curran Glass has offered this service for years. Their prices are posted. It is not clear from their site if they do metal repairs. They mention that they also do repairs on reverse-painted glass.

North Carolina - Charlotte area (Lincolnton)

Jeremiah (& Jim?)
Lamp Shade Pro
2233 East Main Street
Lincolnton, North Carolina 28092

If you get the Hoyle Lamps website, there is a button to take you to their updated site at Lamp Shade Pro. It appears that they do metal work and may also do reverse painting on glass.

Ohio - Cleveland Area (Rocky River)

Marc Konys
Bruening Glass Works

The company also offers crystal repair, and from all appearances they also do any metal work required

Rhode Island

Len Daley
135 Horizon Drive
Tiverton, Rhode Island 02878

It looks like Len has been doing this for a long time. His prices are posted on his website, and he also does metal repairs.

Len shows up on a couple of other websites as the person who will do the repairs, including a site called My Lamp Sale and the confusing Nickates stained glass supply website.

Second tier recommendations

These are folks who mention that they do curved glass replacement on their websites but don’t go into great detail. I list them here with their sites and will leave it to you to investigate further should their location be beneficial to you.

As above, they are listed alphabetically by state.

Bending glass for cabinets

Curved glass for cabinets are often larger than I can make or care to deal with. The first time I needed to order cabinet glass, I worked with PECO Glass Bending, and I never had a reason to work with anyone else, so they are my only recommendation.

Texas - Austin area (Smithville)

Peco Glass Bending
P.O. Box 777
Smithville, Texas 78957

Their website has great details on how to measure any glass you’re trying to replace. It is worth the time to study it and follow their directions so that your order is a perfect fit.
